Marc's Mission: Way of the Warrior Kid (A Novel) By Jocko Willink: Book Review

https://amzn.to/2DcCHh3

I have two boys at reading age. A 12yr-old and a 9yr-old. I'm glad that we've found a book that my boys thoroughly enjoy reading (they also loved the first book). They pick it up on their own, in fact, they decided to go back and reread the first book after reading "Marc's Mission".
The reason that I personally like this book is that it describes problems and issues subjective to Marc. With many other books, like a few I grew up reading, the authors use (real or imagined) systemic world problems, economic, racial issues and try to force liberal ideas onto young readers. I don't think that strengthens them, I think it gives them excuses and creates in them a way to circumvent their problems by rationalizing their failures or shortcomings as part of a self-defeating victimization ideology.
With the Way of the Warrior Kid series, our kids can get a right-sized cut of the same meat that Jocko gives CEO's, Military leaders and all other adults in places of responsibility: Stop blaming others or your environment for your problems. Look at your own actions and decide what you're going to do about it. Then, get after it! Good talk.

My kids read the first one and loved it. So when this one came out I had to have it. My daughter started reading it after school on the way to BJJ, trained and then wouldn’t put it down until she finished it by bed time. Now it’s being passed on to the other kids. This book sounds like it is doing what the first one did. Making a positive impact and reinforcing what I have been saying since they were born. The kids also love listening to the warrior kid podcast as well. Thank you Jocko for continuing the series and we look forward to the next one!
