Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury By Arnold Lobel: Book Review
Priceless.
This is deep, touching stuff that you’ll read to your kids while
thinking, I’m getting more out of this than them! Full of simple and
non-preachy short, bedtime reading-sized stories with lovely pictures.
Friendship, fears, worries, forgetting - then remembering - to be
present in the moment, these are the themes of frog and toad. Seriously,
if you want to be uplifted, inspired, brought back out of your less
mindful moments, or reminded of the depth and importance of your
friendships, this book is definitely for all ages. There should be a
Church of Frog and Toad.
I
love Frog and Toad. The characters are relatable, the stories are
funny, and the illustrations are beautiful. The books are at the right
difficulty level for a beginning reader to practice, but they're also
amusing enough for parents to enjoy reading and rereading them with
their kids. These are what kids' books should be.
This
particular tome is all four Frog and Toad books in a high-quality
hardback book. Nothing is compromised, shrunk, or abridged here. This
is a big, 256-page book containing everything from the original four
books.
I want to buy this for every kid I know.

Who
doesn't love Frog and Toad? These sweet, simple tales of friendship and
adventures resonate with the youngest of hearts, and reading them anew
brings back such good memories of reading these tales with our own kids
and now-grown grandkids. Now, our 3-year-old grandson likes choosing one
special story from his own Frog and Toad treasury at bedtime. (And his
mom appreciates that he knows the difference between each of them so
he's not asking her to read the entire book every night!) Highly
recommended!
